Currently, during the critical period of spring farming preparation in northern China, visits to farmlands across Hebei, Liaoning, and other regions reveal that a range of high-performance agricultural mulch films—featuring thermal insulation, moisture retention, and disease resistance—have become the preferred choice for farmers. These films effectively address challenges associated with traditional mulch, such as inadequate insulation and susceptibility to damage, providing a robust "protective shield" for spring crop growth.

At a wheat cultivation base in Qingxian County, Cangzhou City, Hebei Province, large-scale grain farmer Wang Jianguo is leading efforts to lay a new type of anti-drip agricultural mulch film: "In the past, ordinary mulch film was prone to frost damage during late spring cold spells, and its moisture retention was poor, requiring frequent irrigation. This year’s high-performance mulch film not only offers excellent thermal insulation but also reduces water evaporation. The wheat seedling emergence rate has increased by nearly 20% compared to last year, saving over 30 yuan per mu in irrigation costs."

According to the head of the local agricultural technology extension center, the high-performance agricultural mulch film promoted this year incorporates specialized anti-aging agents and thermal insulation additives, extending its service life by 3–5 times compared to ordinary mulch film. It also maintains excellent light transmittance, promoting crop photosynthesis. Designed to address the arid conditions and significant temperature fluctuations typical of northern springs, this type of mulch film effectively locks in soil moisture, regulates surface temperature, and reduces the risk of pests and diseases. To date, Cangzhou City alone has promoted high-performance agricultural mulch film across 120,000 mu, covering crops such as wheat, corn, and vegetables. Industry experts note that the widespread adoption of high-performance agricultural mulch film not only enhances the efficiency of spring farming but also lays the foundation for stable and high-yield subsequent crops, serving as a vital driver in advancing agricultural modernization.
